How a guide gets written
We define what a good outcome looks like for a real buyer, shortlist the serious contenders, assess them against that outcome, then name one winner and one budget alternative. Rankings are decided before affiliate links are added — we research and write the piece first, and only then look up which retailers we can link to.
What commissions can and cannot do
A commission never changes a ranking. If the best product in a category pays us nothing, it still wins and we say so. We do not sell sponsored posts, paid rankings or featured slots. See our affiliate disclosure for the full detail.
Where we can't test first-hand
We do not test products ourselves — not on any guide published so far. We lean on published specifications, third-party testing reports we name and date, and long-run owner feedback instead. We would rather tell you the basis of a recommendation is indirect than imply a level of testing we didn't do.
What “Updated” and “Specs checked” mean
Updated [month] on a guide means the verdicts and prose were reviewed then. Specs checked [month] means only the numbers — specifications, and Amazon prices and ratings on the date shown next to each — were refreshed; the reasoning stands from the original publication date in the page’s structured data.
Who does the research
A small editorial team at Golden Elite, Singapore, which also operates this site. We are not a lab and we say so on every guide. Where we quote a measurement it is attributed to the named source and dated; where we could not verify a figure we leave it blank.
Corrections
Products change, prices move, and sometimes we're wrong. When we are, we update the piece and note what changed rather than quietly deleting it. Report an error to [email protected].
